Letters

I've been writing a lot of letters lately.

I love writing letters. Old fashioned, pen and paper, handwritten letters. People don't write letters like that anymore, and I think it's kind of sad. Lucky for me, I have a lot of friends going on missions for the LDS Church and so I have a reason to write letters, and lots of them. There is just something beautiful and personal about a handwritten letter that an email or a text just can't compete with. Not that I'm complaining about technology, but I think it's good to slow down a little bit and take the time to write a thoughtful letter. To me, handwritten letters say "Hey, I was thinking about you and I actually took time and effort to write it down and send it to you. You are important enough to me that I am willing to take more than 30 seconds and 160 characters to tell you that."

Needless to say I also LOVE getting letters. Especially from missionaries. I am amazed by the incredible young men I have as friends and getting letters from them always brightens up my day. I read them and re-read them, and they always help me feel better on a bad day. I'm so grateful that I have such wonderful friends and I know they're where they need to be and doing what they need to be doing.

Love, Brontё
