Swords, Mummies, Lindsey Stirling and the Best Weekend Ever.

Sometimes I have weekends that are worth talking (or blogging) about.
This was definitely one of them.

It started with my 8am stage combat class. Now, I am not an 8am person, even at all, but I was actually excited for stage combat this particular Friday. Why on earth would you be excited to go to class that stinkin' early you might ask?

SWORDS.

We're starting on our swordplay unit and it is pretty much the coolest thing ever. Despite the fact that I'm pretty terrible at it, my general feeling of awesomeness goes up about 90% when that thing is in my hand. Plus I'm learning to fight left handed as well as right handed, so I should basically be Inigo Montoya by the end of the semester. No big deal.

After stage combat I made a little trip over to my Alma-mater, Provo High to visit my sisters and some of my old teachers (specifically Mr. Rutter). I got lucky and came on dress like a Greek God day, and got to spend an hour and a half with this gloriousness:

In case you're not quite up to scratch on your Greek mythology, (from left to right) we have: Echo, Hera, Penelope (wife of Odysseus), Aphrodite, Athena, Circe, and Helen of Troy.

They're pretty much my favorite girls ever, and they all rocked their presentations, in case you were wondering.

A little later I actually got some homework done, thanks to my wonderfully brilliant home teacher who is probably the most patient person in the world (he had to explain logarithms to me, so yeah, that took a lot of patience) and I took a quiz on the Constellations, which was surprisingly enjoyable. (Probably because I got 100%, that's always enjoyable).

That night Louisa and I went to see The Naked Jungle at the library because we both love old movies and Charlton Heston, and this fit both categories so we were pretty much in heaven.

Friday night was also Night at the HFAC which has officially been promoted to my favorite yearly on-campus activity. There were some really good performances, and a really good Jazz Band (whose name escapes me, but they were amazing!) and free food, which is pretty much the reason I even go to things like this.

It was worth instagraming anyway

Saturday was just a great day. What made it so great?

This girl. I hadn't seen Ashlin since November, and she's one of my favorite people on planet Earth, so needless to say I was SUPER excited. We had dinner at Coachman's (our favorite geriatric diner) and then   we went to the Mummies of the World exhibit at the Leonardo Museum in Salt Lake. It was SOOOO cool. Everything there was amazing and it was incredible to see mummies of people who lived so long ago and think about what their lives must have been like back then. Plus it was just great to spend time with Ashlin and catch up on each other's lives and sing our old favorite songs and remember our inside jokes. Love her.

Sunday finished off my lovely weekend with a beautiful sunny, cloudless day and Stake Conference, which was really great and exactly what I needed. I also got to spend the evening with Gracie-Bell and Dex, which was crazy fun and full of dancing and cards (with Gracie) and tug-of-war and fetch (with Dex).

What more could I ask for?

Love, Brontë

P.S. I have been listening to this ALL weekend. Enjoy.
